110 Ninth Street
BEFORE -
The 110 Ninth Street site was used for many purposes. The property housed several the 1880s and the George E. Kelly Company, a wholesale drug business, took possession of the building andheld on yo it until it was sold in 1973. In 1979, Penn Technical Institute and Duff's Business Institute became the new occupants. The same building still stands today and was occupied by the technical schools until July 2000.
LOCATION -
Situated one block from the Newly expanded Convention Center and across the river from both new stadiums, Star Realty saw an opportunity to reinvent, reshape, and revitalize the property. Star Realty took the initial steps to prepare the property for a better use; then, sold the property to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, in October 2000.
AFTER -
The building and property are owned by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. There is talk of turning the property into a cornerstone of mixed-usedevelopment with upscale shopping and residential housing. Look for spectacular things appearing on this site in 2004-2005.
